If you will not receive financial support during your stay in Canada, show that you can cover your own and your dependents’ expenses with one or more of the following:
- Bank statements for the last 4 months showing sufficient funds to cover all expenses in Canada
- Certified cheque, bank draft or money order showing sufficient funds
- Proof of a Canadian bank account in the name of the person providing your funds
- Proof of a student or educational loan from a financial institution
- Bank draft in convertible currency
- Proof of payment of tuition and accommodation fees
- A letter from the person or institution providing your funds
If you will be financially dependent on someone, provide a letter from that person stating the amount they will provide and proof they have sufficient funds. They must also document their relationship with you (for example a marriage or birth certificate, family documents or photos).
